Winnie Virginia Walden age 80 of Dayton went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. She was born on September 16, 1935 in Blytheville, AR to the late Coy and Ollie (Stalcup) Goodson and was also preceded in death by her husband, B. Leon Walden.
She was a resident of Dayton since 1974 and attended the Sale Creek Church of God. She retired from the Dayton Career Center after 14 years of service.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra (Robert) Robinson of Dayton and son Benjamin (Tonya) Walden of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandsons Jeff (Donna) Burgess of Dayton, Eric Walden of Dayton and Rusty Walden of Port St. Lucie, FL; granddaughters Tiffany (Tony) Parson of Dayton, Melissa (Van) Price of East Ridge, TN, Shera (Clifton) Gill of Crestview, FL and Michelle (Malachi) Blomstrom of Sweetwater; and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Ollie Bell (Ed) Franks of Graysville and Ginger (Jim) Smith of Olin, NC; brothers Clifford Goodson of Spring City and Coy Goodson of Evensville.
Funeral services for Winnie will be held Wednesday at 12:00 Noon in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Terry Bolton officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Rhea Memory Gardens in Dayton.
