Wilma Faye Cunningham, age 75, of Dayton, passed away Monday evening, December 16, 2019 at Spring City Care and Rehab. She was born on September 27, 1944 in Dayton, the daughter of the late Sam and Ethel (Felts) Hughes. Wilma was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Cunningham; her sisters, Beulah Baldwin, Gladys Jordan, Pauline Jordan, Mary Harris and Wanda Adams; and brothers, James Hughes, John Hughes, T.F. Hughes, Kenneth Hughes and Hobert Hughes.
Wilma lived in Dayton all of her life. She was employed with Kayser Roth as an inspector for 40 years. Wilma enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Community Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two sons, Jeff (Tammy) Cunningham of Bledsoe County and Randall Cunningham of Chattanooga; two granddaughters, Holly (Josh) Mercer of Pikeville and Anna Lee Peyton Cunningham of Chattanooga; great-grandson, Barrett Lee Mercer of Pikeville; two brothers, Wendell (Joyce) Hughes of Pikeville and Clarence (Carol) Hughes of Dayton; and sister, Imogene Thorpe of Dayton.
Funeral services for Wilma will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jimmy Jewell officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Summer City Cemetery on Dayton Mountain.
