William Earl Fugate

March 12, 1929 — May 24, 2010

William Earl Fugate, age 81 of Spring City died Monday May 24, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Oak Ridge. He was born March 12, 1929 in Rhea County to the late Lawrence McKinley Fugate and Grace Collins Fugate. He was also preceded in death by his sons Zane Fugate and Maurice Fugate.

Earl lived most of his life in Rhea County. He worked for Western Union and enjoyed hunting, gardening and growing flowers. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Wolf Creek.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Margaret Porter Fugate of Spring City, daughter Donna Norton of ND, brother Ray Fugate of Chattanooga, sister Lois Porter of Spring City, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Earl will be Wednesday at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Steve Hensley officiating. Burial will be in the Spring City Memory Gardens.
