William “Bill” Russell Wright, age 90 of Hixson, passed away early Monday morning, August 24, 2020 at his home in Hixson. He was born on February 6, 1930 in Miami, FL, the son of the late Ben and Margaret (Breedlove) Wright. Bill was also preceded in death by his wife, Edith Rose (Deford) Wright; his granddaughter, Jill; and his brother, Ben Wright.

Bill was raised in Rhea County and was a Rhea Central High School graduate. He served his country with the US Army Air Corp. during the Korean war. Bill lived in Hixson for the past 30 years and retired with the US Postal Service. He was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders and the Falling Water, Chattanooga, Bradley County Radio Control Flying Clubs.

He is survived by his sons, Harold R. Wright of Hixson, Larry I. Wright of East Ridge and David C. (Joy) Wright of Lookout Valley; five grandchildren, Keri (James) Hale, Leslie (Scott) Goulart, Shannella Stacey, Amy Wright and Stephanie Yoder; four great-grandchildren, Sidney Hale, Weston Hale, Ben Goulart and Emma Goulart.

Graveside funeral services with military honors for Bill will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Rhea Memory Gardens with Rev. John Fields officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife Edith.
