William Ernest “Bill” Schrimpsher age 74 of Dayton died Monday evening, July 3, 2017 at his home. Bill was born in Dayton the son of the late Ernest and Edith (Gennoe) Schrimpsher. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Arbutus (Morgan) Schrimpsher and his daughter Amanda Schrimpsher and sister, Martha Nance.
Bill lived all of his life in Dayton and had been employed by Dayton Products and then Wheland Foundry as an inspector, foreman and machinist. He was an avid UT football fan and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his children, Erica Schrimpsher of Georgetown, Monica (Dwayne) Robinson of Dayton and David (Shirley) Schrimpsher of Dayton, six grandchildren, Collin Robinson, Ethan Robinson, Graci Moreno, Valencia Moreno, Elena Moreno and David Schrimpsher, one great-grandson, Eli Schrimpsher, three sisters, Peggy (Bill) Braswell of Ooltewah, Edna (Gene) Douglas of Dayton, Norma (Larry) Ward of Decatur and his brother, Charles Schrimpsher of Dayton.
Funeral services for Bill will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Vonn Dunn officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Rhea Memory Gardens.
