William Jack Akers

William “Jack” Akers, age 87 of Sale Creek, passed away at CHI Memorial – Hixson on Friday, April 4, 2025. He was born in Coal City, West Virginia, on September 29, 1937, the son of the late Coy and Elsie (Perry) Akers. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Daris Arquilla (Higdon) Akers in 2015.

Jack lived in Sale Creek most of his life, served his country in the US Army in Korea, and was a retired truck driver for TVA. He was a member of the Sale Creek Church of God, loved his church, and was the church treasurer for over 40 years.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Robbie Akers; his son, Cleet (Kim) Akers; his grandson, Jack Ryan Akers, all of Sale Creek; and his nine siblings in West Virginia and Virginia.

Funeral services with military honors for Jack will be in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. with Bishop Terry Bolton officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Rhea Memory Gardens after the service.
