Willadean Thurman Beene, age 65 of Graysville passed away at her home late Saturday evening, March 28, 2009 while surrounded by her family. Willadean was born in Graysville on October 19, 1943 and lived there all of her life. Willadean had been employed as a waitress at Pierce’s Restaurant and was of the Church of God faith. She was an avid NASCAR fan, writer and reader.
She is survived by her four children, Mark (Kim) Ivey of Chattanooga, David (Jeannie) Ivey of Knoxville, Kristie Ivey of Graysville and Teri Peucker of Pikeville. Willadean is also survived by her mother, Minnie Thurman and her sister, Kay Thurman both of Graysville and her special long time friend, Ruth Smith also of Graysville.
Funeral services for Willadean will be held Monday evening at 7:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be in Rhea Memory Gardens in Dayton.
The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Monday after 4:00pm.
