Waymon Lee Cox was born July 6,1970. After a 3 year, very courageous battle with cancer, he left on his heavenly journey on Dec. 21st at home, with several loved ones present.
Waymon graduated from Bledsoe County High School, Class of 88. He played football in high school. He always enjoyed the outdoors. His favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing. He was a plumber by trade, he was a member of Local 43 Plumbers and Steamfitters union. He was also a member of the Pikeville Bass Club. He attended City Church in Dayton, TN.
Waymon was a great person, he had many, many friends. He always made people laugh without even trying. He loved his family more than anything, especially his babies (grandkids). Waymon will be loved and remembered forever and missed by so many.
Waymon was predeceased by his dad, Waymon Leon Cox, and his mother, Annetta "Cookie" (Simmons) Cox.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife and caregiver, Gayla Hodge Cox; his beloved sister, Deanna (Billy) Boston; his cherished children, Cindra (Brandon) Dye of Pikeville, Breanna (Kevin) Sadowski of Crossville, Chasity Brock of Pikeville, Christin (Hunter) Hale of Dayton, Hunter (Katie) Cox of Birchwood, Daylie (Bradley) Warfield of Dayton, and Shaylie Needham of Graysville; his two special nieces, Raquel (Jonathan) Cooley of Cleveland, and Amanda Johnson of Soddy Daisy; several great nieces and nephews, twelve grandchildren, with more on the way. Waymon also leaves behind his furry little sidekick, Tazer.
Funeral services for Waymon will be held at the funeral home chapel on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with his pastor, Rev. Bobby Scott, officiating. He will be laid to rest at Pleasant View Cemetery after the service.
