Warren P. Carney, age 96 of Dayton, died Sunday June 14, 2015 at Rhea Medical Center. He was born November 19, 1918 in Rhea County to the late James Thomas Carney and Nell (Worthington) Carney. He was also preceded in death by his four sisters Imogene Harris, Ethel Marler, Helen DeVault and Irene Thornburg and two brothers Bill Carney and Agnew Carney.
He is survived by two daughters Diane (Arthur) Card of Soddy Daisy and Denice Carney of Dayton, two brothers Doyle Carney of Alabama and Charles (Eulah) Carney of Dayton, two grandsons Aaron Card and Travis (Brittany) Card and two step-daughters Nancy Hess of Graysville and Jean Jackson of Cleveland, OH.
Warren proudly served his country with the United States Army during World War II. He was a prisoner of war in Germany and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He spent twenty-nine years in Cleveland, OH working as a fork-lift operator with the Accurate Die Casting Company. He was a member of the Old Washington Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Warren will be held Wednesday June 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Carroll Henderson and Rev. Rusty Revis officiating. He will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens with military honors.
