Wardell Everett, Sr., age 90 of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Rhea Medical Center in Dayton. He was born in Newton, MS, on October 15, 1930, the son of the late Perry Carroll Everett and Jennie Matt (Parnell) Everett.
Wardell lived in Newton, MS, before moving to Dayton in 1972. He served his country as a Corporal in the US Army in Germany, was a supervisor at La-Z-Boy for 30 years, was a member of the Rhea Springs Masonic Lodge #310 F & AM, and was a Deacon at Garrison Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and making furniture for his own home and for his granddaughter, Laura.
Wardell is survived by his wife of 65 years, Annie (Lucy) Everett of Dayton; his two sons, Wardell (Diannia) Everett, Jr. of Dayton and Dr. Allen (Dr. Anita) Everett of Baltimore, MD; his daughter, Jenny (Robert) Harvey of Knoxville; his three grandchildren, Sam Everett and Margaret Everett, both of Baltimore, MD, and Laura (Andrew) Heald of Sale Creek; and his twin sister, Odell Reeves of Decatur, MS.
Graveside services with military honors for Wardell were held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Rhea Memory Gardens with Rev. Mike Breeden officiating.
