Wanda Ruth Travis, age 81 of Dayton, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at her home. She was born on July 1, 1941, in Greenville County, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Delvin Pharris Kennedy and Edith (Few) Kennedy. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Harris Green; twin granddaughters; and her brother, Gus Kennedy, Jr.
Wanda was a graduate of Bledsoe County High School and earned an Associate of Arts degree in Mechanical Engineering. She was employed as a mechanical associate with TVA in Chattanooga as a boiler inspector. She was of the Methodist faith.
Wanda is survived by her son, Keith (Michelle) Henson of Ft. Myers, FL; her daughter, Stacy Ann Henson; her sister, Mabel Pendergrass of Dayton, her four grandchildren, Andrea (Dan) Svonavec of High Springs, FL, Tiffany Henson, Sean (Alexis) Stahl, and Chelsie (Fletcher) Lansford, all of Ft. Myers, FL; and her six great-grandchildren.
A Family and Friends Gathering for Wanda will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 15, 2022, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with Stacy Smith speaking.
