Walter Roy Stickley, age 81 of Dayton Mountain passed away Tuesday morning, January 1, 2013 in Dayton. Walt was born in Pontiac, MI the son of the late Carl and Rebecca (Freeman) Stickley.
Walter lived in Pontiac until moving to Dayton Mountain in 1985. He served his country in the US Air Force and retired from General Motors as a supervisor. Walt was a continuous board member of We Care since 1989 and also served as vice-president of the Walden’s Ridge Community Center.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary (Cobb) Stickley of Dayton Mountain, four daughters, Sheryl (Helmuth) Schreefel of Waterford, MI, Laural (Tom) Olenski of Clarkston, MI, Reba (Charles) Krepp of Holly, MI and Lea Ann Mix of Fenton, MI and his seven grandchildren.
Funeral services with military honors for Walter will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Pierce and Dr. Walter Ring officiating. Burial will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
