Walter Arthur Becker, Jr. age 85 of Dayton died Sunday December 17, 2006 in his home.
He was born in Chattanooga on May 2, 1921 the son of the late Walter and Hattie (Buster) Becker and was also preceded in death by his wife Dorris (Sharpe) Becker.
Walter served his country as a Corporal with the US Army Air Corp in the South Pacific during WWII. He lived in Rhea County since 1962 where he was the former owner of Wabco Company, which manufactured rubber and vinyl printing plates. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking and was of the Presbyterian faith.
He is survived by his two daughters, Sandra (Billy) Lovett and Deborah (Marvin) Shaver, four grandchildren, Artie (Kristy) Lovett, Jenny (Randy) Roberts, Rick (Kim) Shaver and Allin Shaver and eight great- grandchildren all of Dayton.
Graveside services for Walter will be held Tuesday at 11am in Rhea Memory Gardens with Rev. John Anderson officiating. Full military honors and white dove release will follow.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Monday5-8pm.
