Vivian Smith

January 31, 1939 — February 5, 2008

Vivian Lois Smith, age 69 of Dayton died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Rhea Medical Center in Dayton. A life-long resident of Rhea County, Vivian was born January 31, 1939, the daughter of the late Cyrus Harley McCarter and Blanche (Dugger) McCarter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arlan Smith and son Dwight Smith and brothers James “Gene” McCarter and Cyrus Harley McCarter, Jr.

Vivian was a homemaker and loved to sew. She was a member of the Friendship Full Gospel Church in Dayton.

Vivian is survived by her daughter Linda (Ronnie) Stinnett, of Dayton, two sisters Naomi Edminston and Dorothy Sampley, three brothers, William McCarter and Bobby Joe McCarter, all of Bridgeport, AL and Benny McCarter of Dayton, TN, grandsons Ron Stinnett, Jr. of Leesville, LA, Cory and Shawn Smith of Dayton, great-granddaughter Brianna Stinnett of Leesville, LA, daughter-in-law Kristy Stevens of Dayton and grand-daughter-in-law Jackie Stinnett of Leesville.

Funeral services for Vivian will be held Friday afternoon at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor James Sandell officiating. Burial followed by a white dove release will be in Rhea Memory Gardens.

The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Thursday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
