Virginia Miller

February 16, 1921 — April 29, 2007

Virginia Miller age 86 a long time resident of Dayton, TN died Sunday April 29, 2007 in her daughter’s home in Marietta, GA. She was born in Evensville on February 16, 1921 the daughter of the late Chatt and Ella (Collins) Thurman. She was also preceded in death by her husband Conley “Con” Franklin Miller and her brother Harry Thurman.

Virginia lived in Rhea County until moving to Marietta, GA in 1999. She was a school teacher in Rhea County for 38 years and an active member of the Rhea County Republican Party. Virginia was a member of First Baptist Church in Dayton and Sandy Plains Baptist Church in Marietta.

She is survived by her daughter, Adena Williamson, her grandson Joseph Chatt Williamson both of Marietta, GA, four grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Virginia will be held Wednesday morning at 11am in the funeral home chapel with Minister Steve Brown and Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be in Buttram Cemetery in Dayton followed by a white dove release.

The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Tuesday 5-8pm.
