Virginia Maxine Byers

Virginia Maxine Byers, age 88 of Dayton, died Thursday February 26, 2015 at her home in Dayton. She was born May 24, 1926 in Ashland, KY to the late David Arthur and Carrie (Owsley) Fannin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, her son David Raymond Horton, sister May Hall and brothers Harry Fannin and Fred Fannin.
Virginia worked at Douglas Air Craft as a riveter. She was a pastor’s wife, a Sunday school superintendent and she attended The Grove in Dayton.
She is survived by her son John Edmond Thomas of Florida and daughter Mary Sugdon of Dayton, her sister Marge (Bill) Price of North Carolina, seven grandchildren, Mike Hamilton, John O’Berry, Nathan Thomas, Ryan Sugden, Terri Hamilton, Anna Prater and Sandra Dunn, twenty-two great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday afternoon, March 3, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grove on Walnut Grove Church Road in Dayton.
