Vicki Lynn Cornette age 63 of Soddy Daisy went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, December 31, 2015. Vicki has won her final battle with cancer and has moved into a brand new home with complete healing and rest. Her faith in God and courage facing the battle was beyond measure.
Vicki was born January 28, 1952 in Greenville, KY to James O. and Barbara Thompson. She graduated from Muhlenberg Central High School in 1970 and married her best friend and the love of her life, Thomas A. Cornette.
Vicki is a member of the Sale Creek Church of God in Sale Creek, TN. She is survived by her husband Thomas A. Cornette; a son, Scott A. Cornette; daughter Christy Lynn (Forrest) Glover, and the love and light of her life, two grandchildren, Caden and Calee Glover all of Soddy Daisy,TN.
Vicki is also survived by her mother Barbara Jean Thompson, Central City, KY; sisters Olga Jean (Johnny) Isbell of Central City, KY; Sharline (Allen) Tucker, Bremen,KY; Robin (Keith) Yonts,Eddyville,KY ;Bonnie Hill, Central City,KY ; Stacie (Paul) Brasher, Lone Oak,KY ; and brothers Rev. James Douglas (Sherry) Thompson, Benson, NC ; Johnny Gordon (Denise) Thompson, Old Hickory, TN; Tracy Glenn (Tina) Thompson , Lexington,KY; Chester Ford Thompson, Central City, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
Vicki is also survived by her very special friend and loving caregiver, Johnnita Holman of Chattanooga, TN. A very special thanks to Ms. Johnnita for the love and care that she brought into our home during a most difficult time.
The family will receive friends Friday after 5:00PM at the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton. Funeral services for Vicki will be held Saturday at 12:00 noon at the Sale Creek Church of God, Sale Creek, TN, with the Rev.Terry Bolton officiating.
She will be laid to rest in Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Chattanooga.
