Thurston “Jake” Clark of Dayton died Monday, August 15, 2016. He was born January 23, 1948 in Bledsoe County to the late Benton and Eunice (Brown) Clark. He is also preceded in death by his three brothers, Wendall Clark, Clifford Clark, and Charles Clark, in addition to his two sisters Lois Patton and Freba Smith.
Thurston spent most of his life in the Dayton area, and was a member of the Family Worship Center. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Thurston is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diane (Phillips) Clark of Dayton, his three daughters, Kimberly (David) Thomas, Donna (Clint) Gunter, and Samantha (Jimmy) Williams, all of Dayton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Bradley Morgan, Savannah Thomas, Maria Campos, and Chance Williams, in addition to his brother Leon (Tina) Clark of Dayton, as well as his five sisters, Jeannette Clark of Pikeville, Lou Henderson of Evensville, Irene (Ralph) Thurman of Dayton, Alberta (Jerry) Montgomery of Dayton, and Diane Qualls of Dayton.
A funeral service for Thurston will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 12 noon with Pastor Bob Carroll officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Dayton City Cemetery.
