Sylvia Robichaud

March 19, 1940 — May 14, 2025

Sylvia Annette Nathan Dove Robichaud was born in New York City, the oldest and only surviving child of Rosina (Halstead) and Charles Nathan. She was very proud of the fact that she was the first generation American, her parents being from the British ruled Caribbean islands of Antigua and St. Kitts. She often recounted her ancestry as being English/Scottish/African/Carib Indian/American.

She married Neal Melvin Robichaud on April 12, 1986, each bringing to the marriage 3 children from prior marriages- Sylvia’s children, Michael, Marc and Tania and Neal’s children Christine, Cheryl and James; 8 grandchildren- Nicole, Brittany, Andrew, Anthony, Matthew, Joseph, Isaiah, Joshua and great granddaughter Tatyana. Many cousins, especially her beloved “brother” Charles Joseph, her first cousin of Candor, NY and a host of relatives and friends.

We remember her as our own parish secretary for many years, who always had a courteous smile and would pitch in to help any way she could. She was a lay reader and a Eucharistic lay minister for many years and served the church in many capacities including the Vestry, Altar Guild and as a member of the Memorial Meditation Garden committee. She truly loved St. John’s and it was her fervent wish to be buried in the garden upon her demise.

We will all miss her.
I have fought the good fight,
I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness,
Which the Lord, the righteous Judge will award to me.
2 Timothy 4:7,8
