Susie Lee (Edwards) Wilkey, age 81, of Spring City, passed away January 10, 2019 at her home. Susie was born on August 21, 1937 in Loudon County to the late Perry and Mary (McCampbell) Edwards. She was also preceded in death by her son, Tally Rector, her brother Ross Edwards, her sister, Ruth Woody and her stepfather, W.E. Seals.
Susie lived in several different states over the years and spent the majority of her life in Spring City. She attended Spring City High School and owned/operated several small businesses, the last one a catering service. Susie’s interests were gardening, all kinds of flowers, embroidery and attending gospel/bluegrass singing. She attended Mount Zion and Central Baptist churches of Spring City before her illness. Susie passed away at her home after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
She is survived by her son, Dustin (Erin) Wilkey of Spring City; her brothers, Clifford (Kathy) Edwards of Spring City and George (Linda) Edwards of Maryland; her sisters, Jean Skelf of Georgia, Linda (Danny) Johnson of Cleveland, Margie Hamby of Grandview and Debbie (Earl) Howard of Dayton; her stepsister, Earlene Smith of Soddy Daisy; her stepbrothers, Jim Seals of Texas, Junior Seals of Kingston and Bill Seals of Crab Orchard; numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Susie will be held Sunday afternoon, January 13, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Spring City Memorial Gardens with Pastor Josh Stock officiating.
