Susie Simpson, age 96 of Grandview went to be with her Lord Sunday evening December 7, 2008 in the Spring City Health Care Center. Susie was born in Rhea Springs on March 27, 1912 the daughter of the late Gole and Nancy (Russell) Robbins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Claude R. Simpson and her granddaughter, Flora “Sissie” Simpson.
Susie was a life long resident of Grandview where she was a former member of the Grandview Home Demonstration Club. She was also a member of the Johnson Stand Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two sons, Donald Simpson and Wayne Simpson, both of Grandview, two daughters, Faye Bean of Grandview and Carolyn Phelps of Snellville, GA, her sister, Lula Tibbetts of Cartersville, GA, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Susie will be held in the Vaughn Funeral Home chapel at 2:00pm with Rev. John Pear and Rev. Steve Hensley officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Spring City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00pm at the Vaughn Funeral Home in Spring City.
