Sue Chambers age 65 of Dayton, died Tuesday, January 23, 2007 in Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. She was born October 27, 1941 in Sweetwater, TN, the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Ross) Pennington.
Sue lived in Knoxville from 1981- 1990, Chattanooga 1991-2001 and Dayton for the past five years. Sue had been employed with the US Postal Service and then with Blue Cross/Blue Shield. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed cooking and adored her family, especially her grandchildren.
Sue is survived by her husband, Ralph Chambers of Dayton, TN, her children, David (Ilyana) Watson of Seattle, WA, David Chambers of Knoxville, TN, Deborah Rieth of Dayton, TN, Dana (Brian) Freeman of Soddy-Daisy, TN, Beth Maxwell of Knoxville, TN, Sandy (Dan) Willis of Tallahassee, FL, Kim (Dustin) McPherson of Chickamauga, GA, her two sisters, Kay (Terry) Powe of Chattanooga, TN and Elizabeth Poteet of Durham, NH. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Katie Rieth, Ian Willis, Emily Morgan, Vincent Maxwell, Kendall Willis, Harrison Willis, Dylan McPherson, Bailey Willis, Sean Maxwell, Angus Watson and Gillian Freeman.
Funeral services for Sue will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Clankston Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Spivey Cemetery in Dayton, TN.
The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton, TN where they will receive friends Thursday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.
