Ruth Iva Jean Motes

Ruth Iva Jean Motes age 73 of New Lebanon, Ohio died Thursday April 6, 2006 in
her sisters home in Sevierville, TN. She was born in Dayton, TN. May 11, 1932 the daughter of the late Charlie and Ruby (Walker) Ward. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gary Motes, daughter, Donna Jean Motes and her brother C.E. Ward, sister, Nettie Lee Ward.
Ruth lived in Dayton until 1956 when she moved to New Lebanon, Ohio where she retired from General Motors as an inspector. She loved to shop and was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Leon (Sherry) Motes and Ronald (Amy) Motes of New Lebanon, OH. and Donald ( Retha) Motes of Dayton, OH., daughters, Debra (Eddie) Pogue of New Lebanon, OH. and Cathy Motes of Cape Coral, FL., thirteen grandchildren, brothers, Arvil Ward and Bobby Ward both of Dayton and Felix Ward of Graysville, sisters, Betty Brown of Chattanooga, Naomi Davis of Sevierville and Linda Hanon of Ringgold, GA.
Funeral services for Ruth will be held Sunday at 2pm in Vanderwall Funeral Home chapel in Dayton, TN with Brother Jimmy Massengill officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday at 5pm in Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria, OH.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Saturday 5-8pm and Sunday 12-2pm. The family will also have visitation Monday 2-5pm in Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria, OH.
