Ruth Eulene Morrow Mickel, age 86, of Evensville died early Tuesday morning, June 5, 2018 at Rhea Medical Center in Dayton. She was born April 14, 1932 in Dayton to the late Charles Chester Morrow and Eula Mae (Sneed) Morrow. She was also preceded in death by her husband Kenneth John Mickel; her step mother Audrey Morrow; her brothers John Morrow, Bob Morrow, Jim Morrow, Robert Cordell and Herbert Cordell; her sisters Mildred Day, Merlie Fairchild and Fayrene Wilkey.
Ruth had been a resident of Evensville all her life. She retired as a seamstress with La-Z-Boy after 20 years. She was a gospel singer and traveled East Tennessee with the Mickel Quartet. Ruth was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church. She was an accomplished seamstress, making clothing for many of her family.
She is survived by her two sons Don (Charlotte) Mickel of Spring City and Ronald (Linda) Mickel of Carthage; her brother Tommy Morrow of Dayton; her six sisters Jamie (Ray) Arnold, Pheobe Frazier, Wanda (Bobby) Garrison, Trit (Butch) Majors all of Dayton, Peggy Crawley and Lorene Porter both of Chattanooga; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ruth will be held Friday at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel with her pastor, Dr. Roger Rothwell officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Rhea Memory Gardens.
