Ruth Barbara Bishop, age 88, of Dayton, moved to her new home Thursday afternoon, December 28, 2017. She was born in Dayton on May 16, 1929, the daughter of the late Earnest E. “Shorty” Sneed and Jessie May Hazelwood Sneed and was preceded in death by her husband, C. H. Bishop, son Jackie H. Bishop, and grandson Brian Bishop.
Ruth lived in Dayton all her life and was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She retired from Robinson Manufacturing Co. in the sewing department after 44 years of service.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann Kerr of Dayton; two grandsons, Scott (Kim) Bishop and Matthew Bishop, both of Dayton; three great-granddaughters, Courtney (Tommy) McConnell of Graysville, Paige Bishop of Mowbray Mountain and Maelee Roberson of Hixson; and great great-grandson, Wade Warren III of Mowbray Mountain.
Funeral services for Ruth will be held Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wayne Mullins and Rev. Stanley Faulkner officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Rhea Memory Gardens.
