Ruby Deloris Hall, age 80 of Dayton, passed away at her home on Sunday, February 18, 2024. She was born in Chattanooga on February 23, 1943, the daughter of the late C. B. Smith and Edith (Armstrong) Smith. She was also preceded in death by her son, Ryan Hall; her daughter, Melody Lynn Hall; her granddaughter, Melody Lynn Hall; her great-grandson, Canon Daggett; her three brothers, Bobby Smith, Donald Smith, and Billy Smith; and her sister, Betty Ann Smith.
Ruby was a graduate of Rhea Central High School and was a supervisor in the sewing department at La-Z-Boy. She enjoyed making cards for others and baking. She was a member of Watts Bar Church of God.
Ruby is survived by her husband of 63 years, Melvin Hall of Dayton; her daughter, Wendy (Jeff) Daggett of Dayton; her sister, Peggy Hill of Dayton; her best friend/sister, Betty Rae Denton of Dayton; her daughter-in-law, Evelyn Hall of Dayton; her four grandchildren, Jillian (Cory) Barger of Evensville, Nathan (Hallie) Daggett, Aaron (Haley) Daggett, and Ashton (Johnathan) Cottrill, all of Dayton; her six great-grandchildren, Abel Daggett, Adalyn Sligh, Dallas Daggett, Jensen Barger, Samuel Barger, and Rylynn Cottrill; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Ruby will be in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Kelly Goins officiating. She will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens after the service.
