Roy Lynn Davis

Roy Lynn Davis, age 86 of Dayton, passed away resting peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. He was born in Spring City on June 24, 1936, the son of the late Henry Houston Davis and Artie Lee (Ezell) Davis. He was also preceded in death by his four brothers, Olen Davis, Jack Davis, George Davis, and Gene Davis and his three sisters, Thelma Burdette, Marietta Blevins, and Leona Masterson.

Roy attended school in Spring City, graduated from Spring City High School, and moved to Dayton in 1955. He founded Davis Floor Covering in Dayton in 1967 and operated the business until 2014. He always enjoyed interacting with and helping his customers. He loved antique cars, boating, and riding motorcycles with his sons and friends. He served as a deacon at the Dayton Community Chapel Adventist Church.

Roy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jeanelle (Hurst) Davis of Dayton; his two sons, Mark (Romy) Davis of Hixson and Greg (Angela) Davis of Dayton; and his three grandchildren, Logan Davis of Gastonia, NC, Emily Davis of Chattanooga, and Alina Mueller of Hixson.

A family and friends gathering will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
