Roger Thurman

August 28, 1945 — March 19, 2022

Roger Donald Thurman age 76 of Evensville passed away at his home on Saturday, March 19, 2022. He was born in Dayton on August 28, 1945 the son of the late Stanley and Pauline (Barnes) Thurman. He was also preceded by his granddaughter Bristol Grace Thurman.

Roger served his country with the US Army for 16 years including several tours in Viet Nam. He was a 100% disabled veteran. He lived all of his life in Rhea County and worked as an auto mechanic. His passion was riding, repairing and building motorcycles and was a member of the Texas Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Lambert Thurman of Evensville, his daughter Kortney (Dylan) Thomas of Evensville, two step-daughters, Tammy (Ted) Crye of Maryville and Melissa Asbury of Sale Creek, and his step-son Dallas Bishop of Evensville. Roger is also survived by his four grandchildren Bentley Thomas, Sawyer Thomas, Makayla Lee and Caitlynn Bishop and one great-grandchild Murphy Jennings.

Funeral services for Roger will be held Monday, March 21, 2022 at 3:00pm in the funeral home Chapel with Rev. Paul Forgey and Parson Norman Huskey officiating. He will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens with military honors.
