Roger Dewitt Butler, age 83 of Dayton went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Friday morning, June 19, 2015 at his home. He was born October 3, 1931 in Greenville, SC to the late Broadis and Madge (Grant) Butler.
He was a graduate of the Midwest Bible and Missionary Institute in Kansas City, KS (Calvary Bible College) and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Roger was a resident of Rhea County since 1969. He was formerly a member of Grace Bible Church where he had served as an elder and currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon.
Roger is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marge (Erickson) Butler of Dayton, three sons, Steve (Sandy) Butler of Johns Creek, GA, Dan (Amy) Butler of Sachse, TX and John (Casey) Butler of Clinton, MS, and two daughters, Linda (Roy) Barger of Dayton Mountain and Beth (Joe) Berch of Sewanee, GA and his 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services with military honors will be held Monday evening at 7:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Curtis Sayre and Rev. Joshua Stock officiating. He will be laid to rest in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family is being cared for by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Monday after 5:00pm.
