Robert "Vance" Miller

Robert “Vance” Miller, age 88, died Sunday, February 19, 2012 in Red Bank. He was born August 1, 1923 in Jenkinjones, WV to the late Robert Melvin and Rossie (Eldreth) Miller.
He worked in the coal mines of West Virginia before moving his family to Sale Creek, TN. He retired from Koehring as a chief inspector. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving his country in the South Pacific. He was a former member of the Sale Creek Church of God and a member of the North Chattanooga Church of God.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mildred Eugenia (Sluss) Miller of Hixson, son Vance (Connie) Miller of Hixson and daughters Gaynell (Edward) Massengill of Guntersville, AL and Debra (Francis) Bodine of Hixson, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their thanks to Life Care of Red Bank and Dr. Parkhurst.
Funeral services for Vance will be Wednesday at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Eddie Massengill and Rev. Kenneth Bolton officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Welch – Rogers Cemetery in Sale Creek.
