Richard Eugene McCoy age 55 of Dayton passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, March 17, 2021 at Rhea Medical Center in Dayton. Ricky was born in Rhea County on November 2, 1965 the son of the late J.C. and Juanita (Nichols) McCoy. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Leffew and his two brothers, Charles McCoy and Doyle McCoy.
Ricky lived all of his life in Dayton. He was a graduate of Rhea County High School, Class of 1984 and had been employed with Walmart for 37 years. He was a member of the Cranmore Cove Chapel Church of God and enjoyed missionary outreach, singing gospel music, traveling and photography.
He is survived by his two sisters, Delores (Rev. Rick) Bishop and Patsy (David) Johnson and his brother, Billy (Sheila) McCoy all of Dayton. Also surviving are his nephews and nieces, Billy McCoy, II, Carman Bishop, Jessica Minton, Charlie McCoy and Jeannie Perez, great nephews and nieces Carlee Bishop, Brody Minton, Jasmine McCoy, Heather McCoy, Derek Godoy and Ashley Godoy.
Funeral services for Ricky will be held Friday, March 19, 2021 at 12 o’clock noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Roy Vogan and Rev. Joe Mercer officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his dad in the Cranmore Cove Cemetery.
