Carlos Leffew

Rev. Carlos E. Leffew age 75 of Dayton, went to be with Jesus Friday October 6, 2006 in Lewisburg Medical Center. He was born in Rhea County August 3, 1931 the son of the late Walter and Ola (Belcher) Leffew. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Lorena Sneed and brother, Ray Leffew.

Carlos was born and raised in Dayton and lived in Ooltewah for many years. He was a Church of God Pastor for 40 years and just retired as pastor of the Lewisburg Church of God.

Pastor Leffew is survived by his wife of 55 years Mildred (Pyburn) Leffew of Dayton, five sons, Randy Leffew of Dayton, Gary Leffew of Ooltewah, Eddie Leffew of Chattanooga, Rickey Leffew of Collegedale and Stanley Leffew of Houston, TX., two daughters, Delores Heald of Cary, NC and Sheila Lloyd of Dayton, eleven grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, one brother, Robert Leffew of Charleston, TN., sisters, Ginny Goff, Roberta Singleton and Betty Biddle all of Chattanooga.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wilford McGill officiating. Burial will be in Rhea Memory Gardens followed by a white dove release.

The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Saturday 4-8pm.
