Regina Connell
Hogue
March 16, 1941 – May 7, 2026
Regina (Connell) Hogue, age 85 of Dayton, TN, passed away at Rhea Medical Center in Dayton on Thursday, May 7, 2026. She was born in Wise County, VA, on March 16, 1941, the daughter of the late Carl James Connell and Georgia (Wells) Connell.
Regina called Rhea County home for nearly four decades, having settled there in 1987 after ten years in Knoxville. A graduate of J. J. Kelly High School in Wise, Virginia, she went on to study at Knoxville Business College before building a distinguished career as a senior secretary with TVA, where she served until her retirement from the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant. She also spent ten years as the bookkeeper at Gastown in Spring City, a role that further reflected her dedication and professional spirit. Beyond her work life, Regina generously shared her time and heart as a volunteer at the Care Center in Dayton. She was a faithful member of Grace Bible Church and later New Union Baptist Church. While living in Spring City she was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church choir.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Donald Hogue of Dayton; her four stepsons, Mike Hogue of Kingsport, Eric (Katie) Hogue of Nashville, Chris (Rachel) Hogue of Suwanee, GA, and Greg (Terri) Hogue of McKinney, TX; her sister, Carlene (Jerry) Greene of Bristol, TN; her nephews Jerry (Retha) Greene of Alcoa, TN, and Tim (Angela) Greene of Murfreesboro, TN; her sister-in-law Diane Masenten of Walnut Creek, CA; and her ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services for Regina will be held in the funeral home chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026. She will be laid to rest on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.
