Rebecca May (Peck) Hoyt, age 94 of Dayton, went to be with Jesus Sunday January 25, 2015 in Dayton. She was born March 18, 1920 in Herkimer,NY to the late Earl Ray Peck and Carrie (Morrow) Peck. She was also preceded in death by her husband Lowell Hoyt.
Rebecca moved from Ohio to Dayton in 1936. She went on to earn her BA at Bryan College in 1940, and later became an executive secretary at Bryan College for thirty-seven years. She was a member of the Christian Women’s Club in Dayton, the Bryan College Alumni Association, and Grace Bible Church.
Rebecca is survived by nieces; Barbara Remington of Roswell, GA, Rebecca Rathmann of St. Louis, MO, nephews; Jeff and Charles Peck of Orlando, FL; seven stepchildren, many step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Rebecca will be held Saturday at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Doug Russell and Rev. David Hobbs officiating. She will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens following a luncheon held at Grace Bible Church.
The family is being by Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends at 11 a.m. Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts are made to Bryan College of Dayton, TN.
