Raymond “Don” Dion Selph, age 80 of Spring City, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the Hospice Care Center in Chattanooga. He was born in Hartsville, South Carolina on August 27, 1944, the son of the late Raymond Selph and Beulah (Dixson) Selph. He was also preceded in death by his son, Scott Selph; his sister, Betty Campbell; and his brother, Danny Selph.
Don moved from South Carolina to Dayton in 1975, and he has lived the past 30 years in Spring City. He was employed as an ironworker before becoming a project manager with TVA at Sequoyah and Watts Bar, retiring in 2022. He also served in the National Guard for four years. Don loved his work at TVA, fishing, playing the guitar and singing to his granddaughter.
Don is survived by his wife of 56 years, Robin Selph; his daughter, Nikki Evitt; his two grandchildren, Michael Selph and D’Anna Evitt; his great-grandson, Mayson Selph, all of Spring City; and his brother, Tony (Amy) Selph of South Carolina.
Don’s burial will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 12:00 noon with family friend, Mark Wilson, officiating at Rhea Memory Gardens. He will be laid to rest next to his son.
