Raymond Darrell Cunningham age 71 of Dayton died Saturday, February 13, 2016 in Chattanooga. He was born in Bledsoe County on July 30, 1944 the son of the late Tom and Anna (Simmons) Cunningham. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Thomas Cunningham and Frank Cunningham and his sisters
Treva Keener and Sue Cunningham.
Raymond was a graduate of Bledsoe County High School and had been employed as a clerk with Oster, Walmart, BiLo and Piggly Wiggly. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a founding member of Community Freewill Baptist Church on Dayton Mountain.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Wilma (Hughes) Cunningham of Dayton, two sons, Jeff (Tammy) Cunningham of Bledsoe County and Randall Cunningham of Chattanooga, two granddaughters, Holly (Josh) Mercer of Bledsoe County and Anna Lee Cunningham of Chattanooga, three brothers, Melvin (Judy) Cunningham of Chattanooga, James (Yvonne) Cunningham of Chattanooga and Clyde (Faye) Cunningham of Mooneyham and his sister Avis (Bobby) Austin of Dunlap.
Funeral services for Raymond will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with his pastor, Rev. Jimmy Jewell officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Summer City Cemetery on Dayton Mountain.
