Ray Farrell Arnold, Sr., age 84 of Dayton, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. He was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Evensville, where he served as deacon and trustee. Ray loved being a grandpa and teaching them about life.
Ray was a lifetime cattleman. He managed Double G Ranch for 12 years. Then he operated a dairy for 17 years while raising his own cattle. Ray served on the board of directors of Ag Credit for 27 years. Nineteen of those years he served as vice chairman or chairman. On his retirement he has kept busy with bush hogging and taking care of cattle with his son and grandson.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lee and Rose (Jones) Arnold; brothers and sisters, Lucy Arnold, Clifford Arnold, Walter Arnold, Alline Ezell, Betty Louallen, Melvin Arnold, Marvin Arnold, Virginia Arnold, Harold Arnold, Billie Garrison, Clarice Crawley, and Charlie Arnold.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jamie Sue (Morrow) Arnold (June 28, 2022 would have been 65 years), son Ray “Farrell” Arnold, Jr. (DeAna Arnold); daughter Allyson Walker, all of Dayton; sister Nancy Harrison of Evensville; three grandchildren, which was his prize possessions, Katie Arnold, Chad Arnold, and Garrett Walker.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with grandson, Mr. Chad Arnold, and Brother James Rogers and Mr. Terry Dillard officiating. Interment will follow in Rhea Memory Gardens.
