Quencie Evitt

Quencie Oliver Evitt, age 75, of Spring City, died Wednesday September 26, 2018 at Spring City Care & Rehab. He was born November 24, 1942 in Dayton to the late Robert S. Evitt and Rose (Clark) Evitt. He was also preceded in death by his wife Kathleen (Pelfrey) Evitt, his sister Beulah Pritchett and his two brothers James Evitt and Dexter Evitt.
Quencie lived in Rhea County all of his life. He was a graduate of Rhea Central High School Class of 1960. Quencie operated the Evensville Convenience Center for 40 years. He raised roosters when he was young, enjoyed playing the harmonica, listening to Gospel music, going to flea markets and was a member of the Pleasantdale Baptist Church in Evensville.
He is survived by his son Kenneth (Nikki) Evitt of Evensville; two daughters Sandy (Tony) Rogers of Evensville and Stephanie Henderson of Dayton; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his brothers, Tony Evitt and Bobby (Diane) Evitt both of Dayton, and Randall Evitt of Evensville; his sisters, Irene (Lonnie) Fine of Spring City, Katie (David) Clark of Dayton and Charlene (Bobby) Holden of NC, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Quencie will be held Saturday at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Norman Huskey officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife Kathleen at Smyrna Cemetery in Evensville.
