Peter K. H. Dartsch, age 73 of Dayton Mountain, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. He was born in Germany on August 18, 1948, the son of the late Otto and Hildegard (Schmitz) Dartsch. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica Dawn Dartsch; his granddaughter, Tatum Dartsch; and his grandson, Peter Henry Alexander.
He lived on Dayton Mountain since 2000 and previously lived in Arizona. He served in the US Navy for 24 years, including a tour in Viet Nam. He was also employed as an assemblyman at Suburban Manufacturing in Dayton for 10 years, was an avid camper and traveled across the country, and attended Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathy Dartsch of Dayton Mountain; his two daughters, Tracee (Michael) Tomkins of Forest Park, GA, and Melissa (William) Alexander of Dayton; his son, Erick (Shannon) Dartsch of Las Vegas, NV; nine grandchildren, two great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Peter will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Mr. Marvin Hall officiating. He will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens with full military honors.
