Perry Lee Cowan, age 75 of Evensville, passed safely home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at CHI Memorial in Chattanooga on Saturday, May 9, 2026. He was born in Hawthorne, California, on October 4, 1950, the son of the late August Truman Cowan and Lilly May (Hornby) Cowan. He was also preceded in death by his stepson, David T. Hunter; his grandson, Jesse “Mac” Cowan; and his brothers, Augie R. Cowan, Sr., and Jack “Buck” Cowan.

Perry relocated from Clear Lake, California, to Evensville in 2005. A 1970 graduate of Santa Rosa Junior College with an Associate of Arts degree, he dedicated 33 years to a career with Safeway, Inc., rising through various roles to serve as a manager. Outside of work, Perry found joy in fishing, camping, and playing guitar and drums. A devoted man of faith, he was a member of Cornerstone Church of God in Dayton, where he served as an usher and was passionate about sharing his belief in Jesus Christ.

Perry is survived by his wife of two years, Beverly Lindsey-Cowan of Evensville; his daughter, Rebekah (Greg) Sharp of Kelseyville, California; his sons, Gabe (Teresa) Cowan of Evensville and Benjamin Cowan of Lucerne, California; his stepchildren, Joshua Davis and Brandon Davis, both of Athens; his 12 grandchildren; his five great-grandchildren; his one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews including his special nephew, Augie R. (Maria) Cowan of San Bernadino, California; and his special dog, Baxter.

There will be no services for Perry at this time. He was laid to rest at Our Father's Resting Place at Rhea County Cemetery.
