Peggy Ree Hearon, age 78 of Dayton, passed away at her home Sunday, September 6, 2026. She was born in Lenoir City on April 4, 1948, the daughter of the late William Reed Bivens and Jessie (McKelvey) Hearon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Ray “Fuzzy” Hearon.

Peggy called Dayton home since 2000, after moving there from Ooltewah. As a homemaker, she poured her heart into her family and her garden, with a special love for irises, and she adored nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren.

Peggy is survived by her two sons, Clifford “Von” Hearon and Mark (Anissa) Hearon, her two grandchildren Jessica Hearon and Lindsey Hearon, all of Dayton. She is also survived by her brother, Wesley (Kay) Bivens of Loudon; her two nephews, Mike (Kim) Bivens of Fort Oglethorpe, GA, and Keith Noble of Speedwell, VA.

Graveside funeral services for Peggy will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11:00 am with Rev. John Fields officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Rhea Memory Gardens in Dayton.

The family is being cared for by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
