Paul W. Davis, age 76, of Dayton passed away at his home Tuesday morning, June 13, 2017. He was born on November 1, 1940 in Bledsoe County to the late Willis and Alta Mae (Brown) Davis.
Paul served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1959 until 1963 and was of the Church of God faith. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting. He retired as a welder for combustion.
Paul is survived by his wife of 54 years Jeanette (Cox) Davis of Dayton, daughters Deborah (Coy) Goodson of Dayton, Charlotte Davis of Dayton, Phyllis (Barry) Harris of Dayton, and Patricia Davis of Graysville. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Paul was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Loucious “Bud” Davis, Lewis Brown, Franklin Davis, Bennett Davis, Estee Arnold, “Sis” Elder, James Davis, Ruby Wilson, Francis Smith, and Hessie Starnes.
Funeral services for Paul will be held Thursday at 12 noon at Vanderwall Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Carl Hunsucker and Rev. Jackie Penney officiating. He will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens with military honors.
