Norman Dale Lenerville, age 86 of Dayton died Thursday, March 01, 2012 in Rhea Medical Center. Norman was born in Cash, SD on March 30, 1925 the son of the late Eldred Leroy Lenerville and Mabel Clara (Murphy) Lenerville. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara May (Badger) Lenerville.
Norman earned his B.A. at Wheaton College and his M.A. at ITT in Chicago. He retired as a junior high science and art teacher. He served his country with the US Navy, serving both during WWII and the Korean War. He was a resident of Dayton since 1979 where he was a member of Spivey Memorial United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his two daughters, Dawn (Tom) Hudlow and Leanne (Tracy) Steele both of Dayton, his son, Brian Lenerville of Mt. Airy, NC, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his two brothers, Gordon Lenerville of Chicago, IL and Eugene Lenerville of Lodge Pole, SD; four sisters, Marjorie White and Reta Lenerville both of Santa Maria, CA, Juanita Lenerville of Lodge Pole, SD and Yvonne Rhuland of Lewiston, AZ.
Funeral services with military honors will be held Saturday afternoon at 5:00pm in the funeral home chapel with his pastor, Rev. Bill Ewing officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
