Nona Leona (Smith) Watson age 73 of Evensville died May 20, 2007 in her home.
She was born November 13, 1933 in Hamilton County the daughter of the late
James and Beulah (Fisher) Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband Archie
“Holman” Watson and her grandson, Joey Lee Watson, her brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Margaret Smith and brother, Arlin Smith.
Nona lived in Evensville most her life where she was a Certified Nursing Assistant. She loved singing in church, reading her Bible and cooking, especially strawberry shortcake for her family and friends and she enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Frankie Calbaugh of Spring City, Donna Owenby of Crossville, Carolyn Osborne and Linda (Rusty) Carlyle both of Dayton, her sons, Archie (Emmaline) Watson of Spring City, J C (Doris) Watson, James (Anita)
Watson, Larry Watson, Terry (Teresa) Watson, Archie “Eddie” (Darlene) Watson and David (Rosetta) Watson all of Evensville, 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, brothers, Raymond (Earlene) Smith of Hixson and James (Rosa) Smith of Burlington, VT and her sister, Mary Ann Smith of Moore, OK and sister-in -law, Wanda Smith of Hixson.
Funeral services for Nona will be held Wednesday at 11am in the Hilltop Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Kirkland and Rev. Waymon Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery in Evensville.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Tuesday after 4pm.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
