Neil Roddy, age 96, of Dayton, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at Rhea Medical Center. Neil was born in Dayton on January 21, 1922, the son of the late Frank and Lilly (Miller) Roddy. He was also preceded in death by his wife Bobbie (Byrd) Roddy, daughter Debra Crook, great-granddaughter Lexee Hill, and 12 brothers and sisters.
Neil grew up in Dayton and served in the U.S. Army in World War II as a Corporal in the European Theatre. He retired from Kayser Roth as a Machinist and was a member of Old Washington Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughters Brenda (Paul) Hill and Marsha (Andy) Hood, both of Dayton; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to his caregivers - his "special angels" - Marlena Enna, Darlene Sneed, Mary Hartman and Joy Patterson.
Funeral services with military honors for Neil will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Rusty Revis officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Rhea Memory Gardens.
