Nancy Margaret Roddy, age 85 of Dayton died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. A lifelong resident of Dayton, she was born in Dayton on November 23, 1923 the daughter of the late Robert Dewey Kerr and Amanda (Tumlin) Kerr. She was also preceded in death by her husband John Tate Roddy, son Tommy Roddy and brothers, Beirne, Wesley, Willis and Elmer Kerr.
Nancy was a graduate of Rhea Central High School class of 1941 and was a member of the Dayton Arts League.
She is survived by her sons Larry Roddy of Ooltewah, Terryl Roddy and Gary Roddy, both of Dayton, Randy Roddy of Norris, daughter Diane Sneed of Chattanooga, brothers Robert Kerr of West Palm Beach, FL and William Kerr of Big Bear Lake, CA, 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Nancy will be held Friday evening at 7:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Danny Ruehling officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Buttram Cemetery Saturday morning at 11:00am.
The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Friday after 4:00pm.
