Melvin Braxton Todd

Melvin Braxton Todd, age 54 passed November 22, 2012 in Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. Braxton was born in Dayton on March 13, 1958. He returned to Dayton from California three years ago and was self employed in selling produce and he also farmed. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Braxton is survived by his mother, Velma (Swafford) Todd Baugh of Dayton, wife, Caprice (Johnson) Todd of Tulare, CA, his daughter, Vivian Todd of Dayton, three sisters, Renee (Mark) Hickman of Dayton, Karen (Barry) Nelson of Colton, CA and Candace Sawyers of Rialto, CA, two brothers, Graham Todd of Rialto, CA and Jaques Todd of Chino, CA, two step-daughters, Nina Harrigan of Sacramento, CA and Myesha Ferrell of Lawndale, CA, two grandsons, Chauncey Odum and Tristyan Odum both of Dayton and his special friend, Deborah Gillespie of Dayton.
Funeral services for Braxton will be held Thursday evening at 7:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Robert Henderson and Rev. Mack Louellen officiating. He will be laid to rest Friday morning at 11:00am in the Dayton City Cemetery.
