Melissa Ann (Dartsch) Alexander, age 47 of Dayton Mountain, passed away on June 16, 2023, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga as a result of an automobile accident. She was born on October 5, 1975, in San Diego, California, the daughter of the late Peter Dartsch and Kathy (Hecker) Dartsch of Dayton Mountain, who survives her. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jessica Dawn Dartsch, and her infant son, Wittle Pete Henry Alexander.
Melissa graduated from high school and attended Mohave Junior College in Bullhead, Arizona, before moving to Dayton in 2008. She was a teacher at Bright Beginnings Academy and later the owner of Little Eagles Daycare in Evensville. She enjoyed making cake pops and loved working with children. She was a member of Dayton Church of God.
In addition to her mother, Melissa is survived by her husband of 16 years, William “Tripp” Alexander of Dayton Mountain; her two daughters, Karagan Alexander and McKenna Alexander, both of Dayton Mountain; her sister, Tracee (Michael) Tompkins of Kingman, Arizona; and her brother, Erick (Shannon) Dartsch of Las Vegas, NV; and her many nieces and nephews.
There will be a Gathering Time for Melissa on Thursday, June 22, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home parlor. She will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens next to her loved ones.
