Maxine Glenice Jones, age 70, of Dayton died Sunday, March 2, 2014 in Dayton. She was born August 12, 1943 in Western Australia to the late Geoffrey and Laurel (McPhail) Bullen.
Maxine, formerly a resident of Centre, Alabama, had lived the past six years in Dayton. She was employed as a medical transcriptionist and enjoyed quilting, knitting, needlepoint and Bible studies. Maxine was a member of Dayton First Baptist Church.
Maxine is survived by her husband, Merton L. Jones of Dayton; her two sons, Kevin (Dina) Jones of Dayton and Gary (Eileen) Jones of Diamondhead, MS; her daughter, Helen (Earnie) Robinson of Spring City; step-daughter, Melinda (Peter) Robinson of Evensville; four step-sons, Bige (Josephine) Jones of Western Australia, James (Sheila)Jones of Pass Christian, MS, David (Nancy) Daniels of Houston, TX and Bob Jones of TX; step-daughter, Charlotte Jones of Australia; brother, Kevin ( Denia) Bullen of Broome, Australia; two sisters, Lorraine (Derrick)Hills and Janette (David ) Pride, both of Rockingham, Australia and many grand and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Maxine will be held Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Milton Knox and Mr. Les Warren officiating. She will be laid to rest Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
