Mary Lois Denton

June 21, 1915 — February 29, 2008

Mary Lois Denton, age 92 of Dayton died Friday, February 29, 2008 in Rhea Medical Center. Lois was born on Evensville Mountain on June 21, 1915 the daughter of the late Charlie and Amanda (Henderson) Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Denton, brother, Luther Brown and sisters, Rebecca Dunn, Bertha Mackie and Ollie Jenkins.

Lois was a life long Rhea County resident where she was employed at Robinson Mfg. for 43 years. Lois was a member of the Concord Union Church and served as a volunteer at Rhea Medical Center for 42 years.

Lois is survived by her step-son, Dan (Anna) Denton of Dayton, step-daughter, Mary Kate (Carles) Phillips of Norris, TN, sister, Nica Glab of Red Bank, two step-grandsons, two step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandson.

Funeral services for Lois will be held Monday afternoon at 4:00pm in the funeral home chapel with her pastor, Rev. Shane Johnston officiating. Burial will follow next to her husband in Buttram Cemetery.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Monday after 2:00pm.
